Gualala is looking for You!

Do you dream of living and working on the coast; perhaps having an ocean view from your clinic? Well, here is your chance to make that dream come true: the Gualala Veterinary Clinic is looking for the next generation of veterinarians.

Gualala is situated on the Pacific Coast just north of the junction of Sonoma and Mendocino counties on So. Hwy 1. We serve the communities of Gualala and Sea Ranch as well as many outlying areas up and down the coast. We have a maritime climate with a privileged “banana belt” microclimate. It’s a wonderful community in a gentle climate with an affluent clientele from the area and beyond. Visit www.gualala.com for local info, or www.ruffimage.com for a photographic impression from a local artist.

The 3,700 sq ft building was built in 2008 on a 1/2 acre parcel and includes 700 sq ft of separate living quarters. The equipment is up to date and plentiful; we are paperless, using Intravet practice management software; there is portable ultrasound, digital radiology, sophisticated ophthalmoscopic equipment, a dental station incl. digital dental radiology, a full Idexx lab suite and more.

We currently operate only 4 days per week — Mon, Tues, Thurs & Fri from 9am to 4pm (doctor leaves at 4pm, office is open until 5pm). As a one doctor practice we produce $700K plus per year, with an average invoice amount of $200. There is an untapped potential for 3 more service days and, if desired, after hour or night service. The potential to double the gross is very real.

We are aiming to transition the practice including real estate in the next 1-2 years.

This practice is ideal for a couple of veterinarians or group practice interested in ownership. We hope to increase the service hours to the community. Being able to stay in the apartment within the clinic eliminates the immediate need for housing expenses.

Price is negotiable, based on a professional unbiased evaluation to determine the value of the real estate and the practice.

I am willing to continue to work after the sale in a reduced capacity or on a relief type basis for a period of time.

If you are interested, please respond to GVC@mcn.org.
A site visit can be arranged on weekends. Pictures will be accessible on demand.

We look forward to supporting the next generation of veterinarians on the Gualala coast!

Volunteer Vet Techs Needed at PAWS (Pets Are Wonderful Support)

PAWS mission is to preserve, support and nurture the human-animal bond for those most vulnerable in our community, low-income San Francisco residents who are seniors (over 60 years old) and/or persons living with a disability, with pet food and vet care, among its services.

Volunteer Vet Techs assist one of our licensed Volunteer Veterinarians with exams and nail trims at our Ask The Vet consultations. Our vet exam room is located in the PAWS building in the Mission neighborhood of San Francisco.

Volunteer Vet Techs do not need to be licensed vet techs, but must have a minimum of one year experience working in a veterinary environment, and feel comfortable performing animal restraint and animal handling tasks within a limited clinic environment.
